Screens and zip screens in Meerssen, including measuring on site and installation

The crucial difference lies in the side guides. A zip screen (also known as a Ritsscreen®) has a unique zip system along the sides of the fabric, which is held in the guides. As a result, the fabric is fully enclosed and extremely wind-resistant (up to wind force 8).

A standard screen does not have this zip system, so the fabric can flap in strong winds and hangs less taut. For most situations in Limburg, our advisers at Renoco Sittard often recommend zip screens because of their durability and stability.

Yes, the Verano zip screens supplied by Renoco have been extensively tested and are proven to be wind-resistant up to wind force 8 on the Beaufort scale. This is thanks to the ingenious zip system, in which the fabric is fully enclosed in the guides at the sides.

This makes them ideally suited to the sometimes changeable weather in Limburg and gives you the assurance that your sun shading will work perfectly and stay taut, without flapping, even in a stiff wind. Come and experience how robust they are for yourself in our showroom in Sittard.

Screens and zip screens are very effective at keeping out the sun's heat. Because the screen fabric reflects and absorbs the sun's rays before they reach the glass, up to 90% of direct solar heat can be blocked.

The result is a noticeably cooler indoor climate on hot summer days in Limburg, which makes you less dependent on air conditioning and therefore saves energy. Our advisers at Renoco Sittard can tell you more about the specific heat-blocking properties of the different fabric types.

Yes, a major advantage of screens is that you keep your view out during the day, while the view in from outside is greatly reduced. How much you can see depends on the fabric type and colour you choose.

Dark fabrics generally give a better view out than lighter fabrics. In our Renoco showroom in Sittard you can look at the various fabric samples and see for yourself what the view out is like. Our advisers will be happy to give you personal advice on the best balance between privacy, view and heat protection for your situation.

Please note: in the evening, when it is lighter inside than outside, people may be able to see in to some extent.

Solar zip screens run entirely on solar energy via an integrated panel and battery, so no power connection is needed. Installation is simple, with no cutting or chasing into walls and no cabling, which makes them suitable for existing homes. They are energy-efficient and sustainable: you use free solar energy and reduce your environmental footprint.

The Somfy solar motor works reliably all year round, even in less sunny weather, and operation is just as convenient as with standard electric screens, by remote control or app. You can see this sustainable solution for yourself in the Renoco showroom in Sittard.

At Renoco you have a very wide choice for matching your screens to the style of your home. Certainly. Screens, and zip screens in particular, are ideally suited to large expanses of glass and sliding patio doors. Thanks to the sturdy construction and the taut fabric (especially with zip screens), they can be made in large sizes, often up to 6 metres wide.

They offer a seamless, modern solution for controlling light and heat on large glazed surfaces. Our Renoco advisers will be happy to visit you in Limburg to measure on site, with no obligation, and to discuss the maximum possibilities for your windows or sliding patio doors. Virtually all our screens and zip screens are supplied as standard with electric operation by Somfy. You choose from a fixed switch on the wall, a remote control for wireless operation with a handset, or an app on your smartphone or tablet via Somfy TaHoma®. With the app you can operate your screens wherever you are, automate them and link them to smart home systems.

Solar zip screens are also electrically operated as standard. In the Renoco showroom in Sittard you can try out the control options for yourself.
