The still air in the cells provides very good thermal insulation, so that heat stays outside in summer and inside in winter, and dampens sound. The cords run invisibly between the fabric layers. If energy saving and comfort are important to you, a honeycomb pleated blind is the better choice.

The top-down/bottom-up function (also known as free-hanging or dual operation) is a unique advantage of pleated blinds. It allows you not only to raise the blind from the bottom up, but also to lower it from the top down.

This offers maximum flexibility in light control and privacy. For example, you can cover the middle of the window to stop people looking in, while light still comes in at the top and bottom. The blind is usually operated with handles on the top and bottom rails or with cords.

Yes, pleated blinds are very suitable for tilt-and-turn windows and for windows with special shapes. Because of their flexibility, they can be made to measure for sloping, round, semicircular or triangular windows.

On tilt-and-turn windows, pleated blinds are fitted directly to the frame or the glazing bead with special brackets or side guide wires. With most fabrics, you can carefully remove stains with a slightly damp cloth or sponge and lukewarm water, with a non-synthetic detergent if required. Dab the stain rather than rubbing it, and let the blind dry fully extended. Never immerse the blind completely in water and avoid rubbing hard, so that the fabric and any coatings are not damaged.
