Always let the fabric dry thoroughly before you roll it up again. In strong wind (wind force 5 or higher) it is advisable to retract the awning to prevent damage. Modern systems can be fitted with wind sensors that retract the awning automatically when wind speeds are too high. In snow or freezing rain it is likewise important to keep the awning retracted to prevent damage.
