Wooden venetian blinds are generally not recommended for direct use in very damp rooms. Wood can move (warp or expand) under the influence of moisture, despite any protective coats of lacquer. Good ventilation is crucial if you are considering wood nonetheless.

Yes, both our aluminium and our wooden venetian blinds can be fitted with electric operation by Somfy. You can then easily tilt the slats and raise or lower the blind.

You operate the blind with a remote control, a wireless wall switch, your smartphone or tablet via the Somfy TaHoma switch, or by voice control via Google Assistant or Alexa. That gives extra comfort, especially with larger or hard-to-reach venetian blinds.

Aluminium venetian blinds are very easy to maintain. You simply dust them with a feather duster, a soft cloth or a special blind cleaner, a brush that cleans several slats at once. You remove fingerprints or light stains with a slightly damp cloth.

Dust wooden venetian blinds regularly with a dry, soft cloth or feather duster. Do not use water or a damp cloth, as this can damage the wood or cause stains, and avoid aggressive cleaning agents.
