Freestanding patio cover: stylish shelter for your outdoor space
With a freestanding patio cover you get more enjoyment from your garden, without the drawbacks of the weather. It is a non-insulated structure, usually consisting of a patio cover with (sliding) glass walls.
The basis is an aluminium patio cover with a polycarbonate or glass roof. You can enclose the patio cover with sliding glass walls or fixed walls and optionally extend it with sun shading, lighting and heating. It can be made to measure in a range of colours and styles.

Using your photos and approximate measurements, we prepare a no-obligation price indication in the showroom. If you agree, we come to your home to take the final measurements and check that the chosen solution is a perfect technical fit.

A freestanding patio cover offers maximum flexibility in where it is placed. You are not tied to the wall of your house and can create a covered patio in the spot in your garden that suits best, for example where you get the most sun or have the finest view. Yes, a good foundation is essential for a stable and durable structure. Depending on the ground and the size of the patio cover, our Renoco installers use concrete footings or another suitable foundation method to anchor the posts firmly. This is determined when we measure on site in Limburg.
Our Verano freestanding patio covers have a strong, durable and low-maintenance aluminium structure. For the roof you can choose between polycarbonate (clear or opal/milky white, excellent impact resistance) and laminated safety glass (for a luxurious look and maximum daylight). Certainly. You can extend a freestanding patio cover with sliding glass walls, fixed walls (aluminium or polycarbonate) or wind-resistant screens (zip screens). This creates a sheltered space, comparable to a freestanding garden room, in which you can enjoy outdoor living for even longer. Our advisers will be happy to show you the options.
Yes, our patio covers are designed and tested to withstand normal Dutch weather conditions, including wind and snow loads (in accordance with CE standards). The robust aluminium structure and the correct foundations provide the necessary stability.
We supply freestanding patio covers entirely made to measure. The maximum dimensions depend on the model chosen and the type of roof covering. Large spans are often possible, with extra posts if necessary. Discuss your wishes with our adviser for a tailored solution for your garden in Limburg.
Absolutely. You can fit your freestanding patio cover with integrated LED lighting in the beams or posts for extra atmosphere in the evening. Patio heaters (electric) can also be fitted easily, so that you can sit outside in comfort on cooler evenings too. These options can be operated by switch, by remote control or even via the Somfy TaHoma app.
Just like an attached model, freestanding patio covers have an integrated gutter. The rainwater is carried down through a downpipe in one or more of the posts. You can choose to let this water run straight into the garden or to connect it to an existing drain or infiltration system.
You have a wide choice. We offer popular standard colours such as textured anthracite (RAL 7016S), textured black (RAL 9005S) and white (RAL 9016). In addition, virtually all other RAL colours and various special textured finishes are possible at an extra charge. Come and view the colour samples in our showroom in Sittard.
The rules on permits can differ from one municipality to another in Limburg and depend on the size and location of the patio cover on your plot. Outbuildings such as freestanding patio covers are often permit-free up to a certain floor area and height. However, it is always wise to check this with your municipality beforehand.
